Woodland Hills, CA (November 9, 2017) — Farmers Insurance®, one of the nation’s leading insurer groups, received a score of 90 on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), reflecting the commitment of Farmers® to LGBTQ workplace equality, with respect to tangible policies, benefits, and practices.
The Index is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
In earning its score of 90, Farmers was evaluated on its LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. In addition to espousing a culture that supports employees in bringing their whole selves to work, Farmers celebrates differences of thought, experience and identity which helps the organization better execute on its goals. Included among its several internal employee resource groups, is the Farmers LGBT & Allies employee group.
The 2018 CEI report provides ratings for 947 businesses across the nation.
This CEI achievement by Farmers follows its recent certification as a great workplace as determined by Great Place to Work®.
