LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Severe weather featuring heavy rain, strong winds and hail moved through portions of Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri at the end of December. Multiple tornados were reported with the most severe causing damage to more than 600 homes in Northern Texas. Farmers Insurance® catastrophe claims representatives, agents and other personnel responded the same day to help customers affected.

Farmers reports more than 3,900 claims filed already and anticipate another 4,000 claims as a result of the storms. The estimated overall loss is approximately $90 million.
Catastrophe claims teams will remain in the damaged areas to assist customers with their claims.
