WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing a long-standing relationship, Farmers Insurance® has been recognized by the Red Cross for its support of Red Cross disaster response and recovery work through the Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP).
As an ADGP member, Farmers Insurance has pledged donations on an ongoing basis in advance of major disasters to help the Red Cross ensure an immediate response to meet the needs of those affected by disasters.

"Opportunities like these help to supplement our existing robust disaster preparedness, response and recovery efforts and initiatives."
Farmers Insurance, its employees, and agents have pledged $1 million in donations over a two year period to the Red Cross.
"Ongoing financial support from Annual Disaster Giving Program members helps create a reliable funding base for disaster relief services, providing food, shelter, emotional support and other essential assistance," said Don Herring, Red Cross chief development officer. "Money donated by the public and ADGP is essential to our ability to assist disaster survivors and support the first responders and volunteers who work tirelessly at the scene of a disaster."
This month, Farmers New World Life, located in Mercer Island, Washington, will donate $30,000 to the Red Cross in Washington. This is an additional donation to the commitment made through the ADGP.
