Junior Achievement (JA) of the Michigan Great Lakes High Schools to Tour Farmers Insurance

Grand Rapids, MI -- (March 4, 2013) -- During two half-day, on-site opportunities, students from Northview and Union High Schools participating in Junior Achievement will be provided an up-close look at a day-in-the life of claims professionals at Farmers Insurance. It is part of the annual "JA Job Shadow Blitz" where students will shadow employees from Farmers Insurance who will teach them about the world of insurance claims.

On Tuesday, March 5, Northview High School's freshman class will tour Farmers. "They will split into three groups to rotate through three sessions on the claims operations here at Farmers," said Tom Johnson, HR Specialist, Farmers Specialty Group. "We have a great teaching facility in a new building that we think the students will enjoy and learn a lot during the day."

"Providing Greater Grand Rapids-area high school students with the opportunity to explore career options, experience workplace etiquette, and learn the value of education through Junior Achievement are the main objectives of our job shadow programs," said William C.
