Roy Smith, Farmers Insurance Senior Vice President of Field Operations announced the appointment of Susan Bithell, Farmers Washington State Executive Director, to Vice President, Field Operations, Washington.

"Under Susan's leadership as State Executive Director in Washington, the Farmers presence in the state has seen excellent growth," noted Smith. Ms. Bithell began her career with Farmers in 1983 as an Auto Underwriter in the Pocatello, Idaho Regional Office. In 1984 she moved to the Regional Marketing Department where she held several positions including Life Representative, Division Agency Manager, and Regional Marketing Education Manager.
She was promoted to Director Forecasting, Research, and Financial Analysis in 1997 in the home office in Los Angeles. In 2001 Ms. Bithell returned to field operations as the State Executive Director in Nevada. During her tenure Farmers grew to #1 market share. In November 2005, Ms. Bithell transferred to Washington State as Executive Director.
Ms. Bithell graduated from Idaho State University in 1983 with a BBA in Marketing. In 1998 she earned her MBA with Distinction from California State University - Fresno. She is an avid skier and enjoys riding her motorcycle. She and her three dogs (Sam, Ajax, and Daisy) live in Seattle where they enjoy outdoor activities in the Northwest.
