Young Americanos Photo Contest Winners Depict Latino Life in the Bay Area

WHAT: Forty students, ranging from elementary through high school,
will be awarded cash scholarships and other prizes for their
winning photos depicting Latino life in the Bay Area. Over
250 guests will honor the Farmers Insurance Young Americanos
photography competition winners at a reception following the
unveiling of their winning entries.
The winning photographs will be on public display at the Mexican
Heritage Plaza beginning April 19 through May 4, 2003.

WHY: The Young Americanos photography competition is being sponsored
locally by Farmers Insurance and the Mexican Heritage Plaza.
Young Americanos was developed by Farmers Insurance as an
adjunct program to the Smithsonian Institution's Young
Americanos: Photographic Visions of Our Community traveling
photography exhibition which is currently on exhibition at the
Mexican Heritage Plaza through May 4.
