HONOLULU (March 30, 2020) – Farmers Insurance® today announced support for Hawai‘i Pacific Health as its facilities continue to serve community members affected by the novel coronavirus. Farmers® donated $15,000 through the Foundations of Hawai‘i Pacific Health to aid the organization in purchasing equipment and supplies; supporting staffing needs; and establishing and operating drive-up specimen collecting sites at all four of its medical centers.
“During this challenging time, Farmers Hawaii is helping spread aloha by providing funding to Hawai‘i Pacific Health medical centers and its healthcare personnel who are on the front lines providing essential care to combat COVID-19,” said Melanie Joseph, Marketing Manager for Farmers Insurance Hawaii. “Farmers Hawaii has a proud history of community giving, and we’re hopeful that our contribution helps Hawai'i Pacific Health continue its mission to create a healthier Hawaii.”
Hawai‘i Pacific Health is a not-for-profit health care system anchored by four medical centers – Pali Momi, Straub, Wilcox, as well as Kapi‘olani, the only medical center in the state specializing in care for women and children.
“The spread of the novel coronavirus across Hawaii has required our medical centers to deploy extraordinary measures, including drive-up specimen collection sites and open emergency command centers at each facility,” said Dawn Dunbar, Senior Vice President of Philanthropy, Hawai‘i Pacific Health. “We’re extremely grateful to Farmers Insurance Hawai‘i’s commitment both before the COVID-19 pandemic and now during this time of greatest medical need. Farmers Insurance Hawai‘i’s generosity will make an immediate impact, as our health care team navigates this rapidly-evolving crisis.”
