Total of $150,000 in Educational Grants Awarded to 60 Teachers Across America to Drive Positive Change in Nation's Classrooms
Farmers Insurance Announces Third Round Winners of Thank America's Teachers Program Raising Total to More Than $400,000 in Grants Awarded to Teachers

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Farmers Insurance®, one of the nation's largest multiline insurer groups, announced the third round of 60 winning teachers of its Thank America's TeachersSM $2,500 educational grant program. To date, a total of $450,000 has been awarded to 180 teachers across the nation. Farmers®, inspired by the great work done by teachers every day, created the Thank America's Teachers initiative to say thank you to teachers and award more than $1,000,000 in educational grants in 2015.

Launched at the 2015 Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, California, the Thank America's Teachers program enables Americans everywhere to say thank you to teachers who made an impact on their lives. In addition to awarding 180 grants valued at $2,500 throughout the year to recognize the great work that teachers do every day, Farmers Insurance took the program one step further by developing the Dream Big Teacher Challenge, offering teachers a chance to compete for six $100,000 educational grants. In total, Farmers will present teachers across the country more than $1 million in educational grants in 2015.

"We received many incredible proposals from dedicated teachers across the country for the third and final round of this year's $2,500 Thank America's Teachers grants," said Kelly LaMar, managing lead of Thank America's Teachers at Farmers Insurance. "Farmers is proud to be able to provide the necessary funds to help further advance education in their classrooms and schools, and look forward to offering more $2,500 and $100,000 grants to teachers beginning in January 2016."
