PHOENIX, Aug. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Farmers Insurance℠ will host the Kick-Off Classic at Phoenix's Sandra Day O'Connor High School (SDOC) on Friday, August 21, with a $15,000 donation to mark the beginning of the school's football season. The donation will help fund the purchase of new uniforms and other equipment for the school's football program.
"I'm always looking for ways to help my community, and I understood that the SDOC football team were in dire need of new uniforms and equipment," said Bob Ratkovich, a District Manager for Farmers Insurance. "I knew I could count on our team in finding support from Farmers and local agents – this is a simple way for us to get involved and give back to one of our schools."
With the backing from Farmers corporate offices, Ratkovich was able to secure funds and donated $15,000 to help the football program.
The SDOC Eagles will play Brophy College Preparatory starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21. A local Farmers agent will be stationed in a tent at each SDOC home game handing out water to players and sharing information about local fundraisers to get more high school students involved in charitable work.
