Farmers Insurance℠, one of the nation’s largest multiline insurers, today presented a check for $10,000 to the Child and Family Guidance Center

Bridgeport, Connecticut (July 31, 2015) – Farmers Insurance℠, one of the nation’s largest multiline insurers, today presented a check for $10,000 to the Child and Family Guidance Center to help continue its mission of offering a wide range of outpatient mental health and counseling services to children under the age of 18, and in-home support services to families in the communities of Bridgeport, Statford, Fairfield, and Norwalk.

“The Child and Family Guidance Center is trusted by thousands of local families for its support, guidance and direction,” said Gisselle Acevedo, who donates her time and services to the organization, in addition to, serving as a member on the Board of Governors of Fire Insurance Exchange, an insurer within the Farmers Insurance Group. “I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact this organization has provided to so many children and families. Providing support to this group fits well with our goal of helping communities where our agents, employees and customers live and work.”

The organization will use the $10,000 donation from Farmers to help update its aging facilities and waiting rooms. In addition, the donation funds will help purchase much needed supplies and learning equipment to help the organization better serve children and families.

“We take our mission to heart and commit each day to doing the best we can to empower youth and families to heal, grow, thrive and prosper,” said Michael Patota, CEO of the Child and Family Guidance Center. “Our mission seems simple, ‘to address the emotional and psychological wellbeing of children and their families’ but requires a joining of individual, organizational and community strengths to achieve, and we are grateful to Farmers Insurance for the donation so that we can continue to strive to accomplish that mission.”

“Farmers has a rich tradition of coming together to help give back to communities,” said Acevedo. “The Child and Family Center parallels Farmers civic commitment to giving back, and I am privileged to be able to present this wonderful organization with this donation to help them continue their mission.”
