“We are grateful to the people at Farmers Insurance and Farmers Financial Solutions for their generous support,” said Tim Ney, Executive Director of ASYMCA. “It is through the support of organizations like Farmers that we are able to provide much-needed programs and services to the military community here in San Diego.”
Several leaders of the national insurer and its financial services unit are in the San Diego area for a series of meetings and to participate in a variety of community-focused events related to the Farmers Insurance Open which will be held at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course beginning tomorrow, February 5.
“The San Diego Armed Services YMCA organization does an exemplary job of assisting military families and we wanted to demonstrate our confidence in what they are doing and support their efforts with our heartfelt contribution,” said John Mueting, head of Farmers Financial Solutions.
The delegation of Farmers leaders on hand at 3:00 pm to present ASY with their grant this afternoon at the First Tee of the South Course, included Farmers District Manager Jason Brassell of Englewood, Colorado, in whose honor the donation is being made in recognition of his efforts to support families in his community. Also assisting Farmers Financial Solutions in raising funds for the ASY group were financial services companies, AXA and Principal Funds.
In addition to supporting military-focused service organizations like ASYMCA and the USO, Farmers has been actively seeking military veterans to join the organization as Agency Owners and for employment opportunities in locations across the country. Recently, Farmers was designated as one of the top 150 Military-Friendly Companies and one of the Top 50 Military Spouse Friendly companies. With approximately 20-percent of the company’s Agency Owners having served in the military, many veterans have found the Farmers opportunity to be an excellent fit with the training and experience they secured through their service to the nation.
