Rochester, N.Y. (December 8, 2014) – Farmers Insurance, one of the nation’s leading multiline insurers, will host a special Grand Opening reception and Ribbon-Cutting ceremony from 10:30 a.m. to noon today to inaugurate the establishment of its new Territory Office in Rochester, New York.
“With our successful eastern expansion over the past few years and more to come in the future, we’re excited to celebrate this important milestone here in Upstate New York,” said Carl Hackling, head of exclusive agent distribution in the East Zone for Farmers Insurance. “Our new Territory Office will be a hub of opportunity for entrepreneurs who are interested in capitalizing on the benefits and generational wealth opportunities behind becoming Farmers Agency Owners throughout the State of New York.”
Beginning in 2011, Farmers began a concerted effort to expand its presence along the eastern seaboard. The national insurer opened new offices in Pennsylvania in the first part of that year, followed by New Jersey later in the year. In 2012, it opened operations in Georgia and Maryland. The national insurer first entered the New York marketplace with its combination of highly-trained exclusive agents and broad array of insurance and financial products in 2013. Building on its success thus far, Farmers is moving to its new, expanded facility to provide a growing number of small business ownership opportunities for those interested in becoming Farmers Agency Owners in the state.
Farmers will announce its upcoming entry into another eastern state in the near future, with more expansion plans to follow in 2015.
Joining Farmers representatives for the special Grand Opening event were: Joseph Morelle, NY State Assembly Majority Leader; Joseph Robach, New York State 56th Senate District; Maggie Brooks, County Executive for Monroe County; and William Moehle, Supervisor of the Town of Brighton.

The new facility will house approximately 30 full-time employees who will oversee the recruitment and training of prospective new Agency Owners.
