Farmers Hawaii Recognized for 'Thank a Million Teachers' Program
Farmers Also Urges Residents to Vote for Proposals from Local Teachers on ThankAMillionTeachers.com Web Site; Educators Could Win $2,500

Honolulu, Hawaii (November 24, 2014) –Hawaii Mayors, representing the Counties of Hawaii, Honolulu, Kauai and Maui, recently presented signed proclamations to Farmers Insurance Hawaii recognizing the local insurer for its efforts to bring appreciation to Hawaii’s teachers through its national Thank A Million Teachers program.

“We are proud and humbled to be afforded this recognition for our Thank A Million Teachers program that we launched at the beginning of the year,” said Melanie Joseph, marketing manager for Farmers Insurance Hawaii.  “Teachers in Hawaii do an amazing job of inspiring our young people and helping them grow into outstanding citizens, so it’s appropriate that we all take some time to show our appreciation to teachers for what they do.”

Each of the proclamations acknowledge the efforts of Hawaii’s teachers and the insurer’s program that invites the public to show their appreciation to America’s educators by going online to thankamillionteachers.com to post a note of gratitude to a current or former educator.

In addition to raising awareness of the work and dedication of Hawaii’s teachers, all four of the proclamations “…recognize and honor Farmers Insurance for their initiative on the Thank A Million Teachers program…” and encourages “…all citizens to visit ThankAMillionTeachers.com to thank a teacher who has made a difference in their lives.”

“Farmers Insurance Hawaii also wants to remind Hawaii residents to go to the ThankAMillionTeachers.com web site to vote for the proposals of four Hawaii teachers who are in the running to win grants worth $2,500,” said Joseph.  “The dedicated web site is also the place where people can share a heartfelt ‘mahalo’ to teachers for their dedication to the keiki and youth’s growth and development, and for making the most important difference in the lives of Hawaii’s children.”

Farmers Insurance declared 2014 as the year to Thank A Million Teachers. As part of that declaration, Farmers also dedicated one million dollars to educators across the country in the form of multiple grants.
