LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- November and December mark a time of year when family and friends come together to celebrate the holidays; however, many brave members of the U.S. military heading overseas will not be able to spend the cherished time with their families. Across the country today, Farmers Insurance offices and employees are hosting employee events honoring their local veterans.
As a recognized Military Friendly employer through G.I. Jobs rankings, Farmers is committed to continuing to honor the nation's veterans, along with reserve and active duty military members, with a series of events in partnership with local organizations including some branches of the United Service Organization (USO) to show support for their sacrifice and service. This includes the kickoff of the annual Farmers Holiday Card Campaign, a campaign which allows thousands of Farmers employees and agency owners across the country to write inspirational holiday cards, which will then be sent to wounded veterans at hospitals across the country and soldiers serving overseas. Additionally, on November 18, Farmers Insurance employees in Los Angeles will join with the Bob Hope USO at Los Angeles International Airport to serve hundreds of soldiers heading overseas with a holiday meal before they board their flight.
