GARDENA, Calif., April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Farmers Insurance agent Raymond Vergara and team will be at the Gardena YMCA Children's Day fair on Saturday, April 26. The YMCA, located at 1000 W. Artesia Blvd, is hosting the fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There, attendees can stop by the Farmers Insurance booth to learn about the Managing Information on Lost Kids (m.i.l.k.) program.
"My team and I are excited to support such a worthy cause," said Vergara. "Farmers Insurance has a long tradition of giving back to our local communities. To us, there is no greater opportunity to be involved locally than by providing valuable information to the public."
The m.i.l.k. program, developed in collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Imagery Concepts, provides parents with identification software that includes a standardized, high-quality digital image of their child with a place to record current detailed characteristics. If the unthinkable occurs, a parent can use the provided disk to immediately print "missing" posters and send this important information to law enforcement agencies and the NCMEC – information that can help turn an extended search into a quick recovery. Vergara and his team have supported this program in the community for the last six years.
The Vergara Agency, located at 13658 Hawthorne Blvd, in Hawthorne, is open five days a week, with appointments available on weekends and evenings, upon request. The office is also accessible via the web at www.farmersagent.com/rvergara or by phone at 310-868-6964.
