KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A system of severe weather moved through multiple states in early April. Damaging tornadoes, hail, severe winds and flooding were reported in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Farmers Insurance Catastrophe claims representatives have been deployed to help customers who suffered damage from these storms.
Farmers Chief Claims Officer Keith Daly emphasized that the Farmers catastrophe claims teams are in the area and continue to assist customers through the claims process. Claims adjusters are in both Kansas and Missouri assisting customers with their claims. Farmers Insurance estimates that the total cost of the expected claims volume from these states will be approximately $75 million.
"Farmers takes great pride in our ability to be the first major insurer to arrive at a catastrophe to help our customers in their time of need and to pro-actively begin the claims handling process," Daly said.
Daly advises that all Farmers customers who suffered damage from the recent storms should file their claims at www.farmers.com (to avoid call times), via the Farmers Insurance Claims app, or by calling the 24-hour claims center.
