"Farmers is proud to partner with soccer legend Jorge Campos, providing a platform for him to share his talents and experience with the local youth," said Luisa Acosta-Franco, Vice President of Multicultural Marketing for Farmers. "We have found that soccer is a powerful tool that can serve to educate our children beyond the sport itself. It can also teach important life skills like leadership, teamwork, and unwavering fortitude, as these are the lessons we want to transcend through our clinics."
"Being a good athlete takes more than just being good at the game. You have to be smart and able to play well with others. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside Farmers to teach our children key skills to succeed in soccer and in life," said Jorge Campos.
The Farmers-supported soccer clinics consist of a two-hour skill building session led by Campos himself and other major league soccer coaches. These drills and games allow the kids to demonstrate their skills, work as a team, and show their passion for the sport.
Farmers is also offering attendees an exciting opportunity to give back to their local community. A giant Farmers soccer ball will be present at every clinic, where attendees are invited to sign the ball for a donation of $1 dollar. For every dollar collected, Farmers will match $2 dollars. The money raised will be donated to a local charity. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take their picture with the giant soccer ball.
Each participant will receive a gym bag with a commemorative t-shirt, soccer ball, water bottle, and an autographed photo of Campos. A drawing will also be held to award a lucky winner with a signed Jorge Campos-designed jersey.
Participating kids will be selected at random by drawing from the pool of entries submitted to Farmers via the Juega y Aprende con Jorge Campos sweepstakes. To enter parents must complete a registration form and submit it in person at a participating Farmers agent locations. Sweepstakes entry forms, location of participating agents and a list of complete rules and regulations are available at www.segurosfarmers.com/juegayaprende. Each clinic will be able to host up to 100 young soccer stars.
Winners will be selected and notified of the specific clinic locations 10 days prior to the date of their workshop.
