Farmers Insurance Group of Companies®, together with the Chief Eddie Burns, Sr. of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department, will host a special "Firefighter Appreciation Cookout" on April 12, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Dallas Fire Department Training Center located at 5000 Dolphin Road in Dallas.

The cookout is part of the Farmers' Catastrophe Preparedness Road Show tour through which the insurance company, in partnership with local fire departments, provides residents with information on how to prepare for a disaster and its aftermath. Also featured will be the Farmers' Mobile Command Center Bus (MCC), a 46 foot long rolling communications center equipped with state of the art communications equipment and supplies.
A special "Firefighter Appreciation Cookout" will also be prepared for area Fire chiefs and firefighters at the Dallas Fire-Rescue Training Center

"The MCC is one of three buses that are deployed to disaster sites throughout the United States to help customers and non-customers alike," explains Farmers North Texas State Executive Director Jim Swope. "The bus also has generator power that can run a small hospital, evacuation center, or communications equipment of emergency services agencies should their power go down."
