Farmers New World Life Insurance Company announced that Katherine P. Cody has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of the company.

Joining Farmers from The Phoenix Companies, Cody held positions including assistant vice president corporate finance, second vice president strategic development, vice president and treasurer and senior vice president and chief accounting officer. Most recently, she was responsible for leading Phoenix's emerging growth line Alternative Retirement Solutions. Prior to working at Phoenix, she served several insurance companies through her work as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Cody is a graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and holds the designations of CPA, CTP, FLMI, HIA, and MHP. She is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, LOMA and the Association of Finance Professionals.

Cody and her family will be relocating from Hartford, Connecticut to the Seattle, Washington area.
